Hey, I have access to an unlimited supply of oldish grape vine stumps. Can anyone tell me how fast they decompose? Good/bad water absorption? How much should I put in my hugelkultur beds?

Based on what I heard from Paul, the type of wood is not really critical. I think he and Neil Bertrando mention about the content of the hugelkultur raised beds in podcast 172.
