Wisconsin is nothing if not unpredictable. We had high 80's last week, more than a foot of snow  last night and 17 degrees F tonight.

Sorry to hear that. Did your apricot trees bloom earlier this year? Many places are experiencing an warm winter and early spring in 2023. We had a thread discussing this:
/frost-month-early
And in the reply, Jim mentioned in the past years with early springs, the last frost dates still came at usual times. That seems to be the case for me too. Everything is lush and green now, my roses about to bloom and we already mowed the lawn last week. Yet the temperature will dip below freezing this coming weekend. Not a good year for fruit growers and gardeners across the country.

This is only the second year they have bloomed, so I don't really remember.  We had really warm weather for here, so they may have made them bloom early, or they just may be early bloomers in general.  I'll have to keep track for next year.  My other fruit trees haven't bloomed yet, so I'm hope they will do okay.
