Here is a video I made explaining what I made to plant 1300 carrot seeds fast. Today I used it again for radish seeds. It covers the 9 days from planting till germination.

That's pretty innovative. I'm not sure it's really eight times as fast as planting one at a time, and particularly if you're not too fussy about getting perfect spacing, but still a pretty cool idea and within the fabrication skills of most folks with a little shop.
