Hey John;
That looks like a pretty neat stove.
It appears to be just the opposite of a full bore wide open rocket stove.
It still looks like a good stove, particularly for a warmer climate.

wood 12 -14 inches long is fed into the top and it likes a bed of ash.

Hi John;
Well, the description says it burns long and slow.
A rocket stove burns fast and crazy hot, then uses a mass to store the heat.
