weird mosquitos??

Has anybody noticed weird mosquitos lately?? I've been getting normal bites, but in addition I've been getting weird ones too. swelling, longer symptoms, less itching/ more burning, and they leave white scars. They're not tick bites- I caught one of the suspicious skeeters and they LOOK different. They have bolder white stripes as opposed to the beige normal mosquitoes. Anybody have any thoughts? Am I crazy??

Where are you located?  Florida has seen two new species arrive or at least documented just since 2020.   Do a Google Images search on Culex lactator and Aedes scapularis to see if those look anything like your recent observations.

This article from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says there are 200 types of mosquitoes living in the continental United States.

I've seen some for years that are black with white stripes that look like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedes_aegypti but I don't know if they are the same as what I've seen. I never noticed any difference in any mosquito bites I've ever received.

Looks a bit like this guy but bolder. Not quite as striking as the aedes aegypti.
