We are required by the Town to have a rabies vaccination administered by a vet (we can administer ourselves but it won’t count for the law).

Rudolf does not like the vet. Rudolf does not like the car. He is so smart he has figured out how to spit out narcotics we were given to calm him down before the appointment. We put it ground up in milk, his favorite, and so he decided he’s vegan.

The vet wasn’t happy that he growled, and I get that, he’s 110 lbs of more than I can drag. I saw a video of how they transport them in Armenia, and there are two very strong-looking fellows with 2 equally strong-looking leashes.

Thanksfully our vet today knew LGD’s, unlike the first 2, and she said he behaves entirely appropriately.

As someone who never had a goldfish growing up, much less a wolf-crusher hound, I have found the whole vet experience weird and frustrating. But now I’m pretty happy. This person is a bit farther out in the rural area than the first 2 vets.

Now how to handle the tick- and flea-born diseases. Guinea fowl?  I’ll be searching this section of the forums!

Try researching Astragalus and its' safety for dogs. This herb is used for people to prevent lyme disease.

Buhner recommends Astragalus as a preventative measure for those who live in Lyme endemic areas.

From here.
