Hi everyone,
New goat owner here - just got two 4month old Nubian sisters yesterday. They came from a very loving farm of about 10 other goats and look very healthy. Understanding that goats are social/herd animals, and that these guys are still young, I'm looking for a little perspective on the current situation. If someone is in their forest pasture with them, they will go explore, eat,
pee, climb a little, etc. You can tell they are getting used to their environment, which is different than where they came from (pure pasture). However, when someone leaves or is not in there, they will cry for about 10 minutes and then quiet, but stand/lay by the gate. I'm not interested in these animals being pets, but I also don't want to fail in helping them adjust. We will be getting guineas to put in there within a day (again they are used to living with
chickens), so I hope that will help. Just interested in hearing people's
experience and opinions on how often to go be in the pasture with them/other things we
should be doing. Thanks!
