Inspired by thefilm thread, I thought I'd start a tv thread.
It feels a bit naughty, but I don't care I don't actually have a tv, but who needs one?
Deadwood. Shakespearian-level swearing, cut down in it's prime Justified
QI (Stephen Fry is a very clever, very funny man)
Blackadder
Breaking bad
River Cottage
Game of Thrones...it's got dragons!
I liked "Fame" when I was a kid. I just discovered the Korean series "Dream High" - very addictive!
We also really like "Psych".
There was a Brit-Com way back called "Good Neighbors" in the US, they had a different name over there, about an urban homesteading couple with very conservative neighbors, hilarious.
And my husband and I laughed out loud more for "Coupling" (British version) than any other TV show, ever.
Firefly very much appealed to my individualist streak.
Simon: So does it happen a lot? Government commandeering your ship, telling you where to go?
Mal: That's what governments are for... get in a man's way.
The original Twilight Zone, Outer limits, The Ray Bradbury Theater, Star Trek and all the subsequent spin offs, Patrick McGoohan's The Prisoner, Spartacus: Blood and Sand + God of the Arena, The Old Grey Whistle Test, Don Cornelius's Soul Train.... Ok, I better stop here, but I could go on forever.... Lol!
I also liked the Prisoner and Twighlight zone, and Star Trek. On the buses is a regular favourite in my brothers house, and I cannot help being glued to the set when he puts them on. Only fools and horses I can watch until the cows come home too.
I think it is about time I watched this! so many people think it's great, and I am , well behind time i guess! The closest i have been to a vampire series is hammer house of Horror and that would be pretty cheesy by todays standards.
fuck it
