An insect has caused tumors on my thimbleberry!

At least I am presuming this is the cause and not the effect.

Some tiny white grub (so tiny I cant photograph it. Approximately 2mm long) with a greyish spot (which I think is its stomach they're kinda translucent white) is living in gruesome deformities on the stalks of my thimble berries! The leaves have also been chowed down upon. By the parent of the larva or something else I don't know.

nyone know whats up? I might be able to describe them better given some probing questions from someone who knows about such things.

That looks like thimbleberry gall wasp damage to me. I don't know what you can do about it. Maybe do a google search?

The damage on the other leafs looks like from caterpillars (moth/butterfly), much larger ones than the tiny larvae in the galls.
