A month ago after the first frost I filled a 1/2 gallon jar 1/2 full with wild rose hips and filled it with Braggs A.C.V. It's getting cloudy in the jar. How long should I leave them in the jar? thanks Alan

The standard for alcohol tinctures is about two weeks (to infinity and beyond). Vinegar is not as strong (or as good a preservative) and so it takes a little longer, but not much. For ground product it is actually the same. For whole product, like your hips, it will take a week or two longer.

One thing I have been doing is actually leaving the marc (product being extracted) in the menstrum (extraction medium). This gives me two things: identification and complete extraction. It does not hurt one bit to leave it in there.

I'm still in control here. LOOK at this tiny ad!
