Not yet, Miles. Those things do sound awesome.

We're still digging out from the workshop aftermath. The wofati is the main priority right now, as well as feeding folks here (Emily, Tony, Andy and Jason along with Paul and myself - though Jason leaves today). Paul has his normal overload of work on the computer. I could drone on about the many menial tasks involved with the aftermath, and still working on infrastructure in many big and small ways, but suffice it to say "organizing, cleaning and recycling, oh my!"

Yeah. I've noticed on Craig's List (Spokane) that many people are down sizing herds/flocks before the really cold weather hits.

In the spring/summer, everybody was offering weaner pigs for $80-$100. Now that the stark realization of buying 6 months of feed has set in, weaner pigs are being listed $35-40. (Although, about half of the listings are for 'wiener' pigs. lol)

Lots of goats, sheep, horses, poultry etc being listed this time of the year.
I guess that they aren't quite so cute once you have to start buying them feed.

Come about Feb, you can get horses for free and cows nearly for free as people run out of hay.

Something to keep in mind for those that are just getting set up but have hay already.

Now, if we only had someone living here who wanted to manage these free/affordable critters. Not something that Paul and I are ready to take on just yet and Tim and Kristie have their hands full, too.

I was thinking that you might pick them up so you could butcher them for a few good , free, meals?

Ah! I keep thinking of animal systems, so harvesting right away didn't even dawn on me!
