About 4 years ago I planted 6 varieties of bamboo, and 3 appletrees very near the septic lateral lines. The area is well drained and never moist or soggy. (very rocky)
There are only 2 folks on the septic system now. This will prob be our first year to get fruit, due to late frosts, drought etc. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
Unless you have specific issues like hepatitis or taking persistent medications, you should have some tasty fruit.
The bamboo worries me more about plugging the field with roots, but that depends on the type and the spacing.

I am happy to hear this. No meds or illnesses here. We don't even take asparin.
The compsting toilet is a great alternative as well, should we develop a problem.
I really do appreciate this website and all of the knowledge that is shared here.
Thank you, Randy
The bamboo we planted was; black, varigated, solid stem, bibax? and 2 others I cannot remember off hand.
The verigated is spreading like wildfire, the black took off this spring but the last feeze seems to have killed all of the new shoots.
