Hello everyone,
I recently learned that mulberry leaves dried and made into a tea are beneficial, and have been used in Chinese medicine for centuries. I'd love to hear from some folks who might have personal experience with that.
I'm also wondering whether one particular variety is superior, or whether the common wild mulberry is better.
Anyone have knowledge or experience to share?
Last year I dried some leaves in the sun and made tea. Leaves from a wild tree. It was good, but since I am addicted to caffeine I went back to my usual black tea.
We have been using mulberry leaves as ice tea year round for several years. We cut down a number of branches leaning them against a surface in the shade. They stay there for several days drying down some. Then we strip the leaves off the branches to finish drying in our greenhouse. If you don't live in a humid climate like us they will probably dry fine still on the branches. Our tree is a wild one planted by the birdies.
We started using this tea to help with blood pressure and blood sugar issues. We don't put sweetener in our tee. It tastes fine, but is better with a bit of mint added to it.
