I’ve been  experimenting with freeze dried and dehydrated meals in jars. I must say that the shelf life has been great! Of course, I had a book that gave me the basics, but the end product turned became a family favorite!

What sorts of recipes have you found to work well with this? I think I see some noodles and chickpeas in a few of them.

I love doing this too. Our favorites are soup mixes, sauce and dip mixes and all kinds of baking mixes. Bread in a jar are our family. I use my own freeze dried products, except for yeast. 1 jar holds, flour, eggs, powdered milk sugar and freeze dried sour dough starter or yeast in a package. I also have larger mixes, that are useable for many different things, but the soup mixes, and bread mix are the favorites.

Thea, welcome to the forum.

Would you share the recipes for your mixes?
