It’s considered one of the most invasive species in many countries but also has many uses. I have been using one compound for over ten years to prevent/reduce sciatica. The plant is a powerhouse of medicinal properties.
It has antibiotic, anti inflammatory and antiviral properties. It has been proven effective against at least four types of cancer and was found to reduce chronic Lyme disease better than doxycycline or tetracycline.
On the negative side, it retards germination and growth of other plants. It has been known to damage buildings and cause damage to streams.
Just a thought.
Alan, I wondered about that also...and decided not to include on this list although someone may decide to include anyway.
I used a j. knotweed/teasel tincture for tick fever years ago and found it very helpful and effective.
I did leave off a few topics that refered to something other than true bamboo and others that seemed to talk about bamboo secondary to the main topic.
I was surprised at the number of threads just for bamboo!
