It is not plant specific, the plants are only 1.5 inch across so they are relatively small.
The concept reminds me of aeroponics system with there amazing root system and resource intensive, time/power sensitive watering system.

Iterations are fine, we don't have to be perfect

Or an aquaponics system. Swales are tree growing systems and have no resource/power requirements when set up
