Finca Perma Vida is a family-owned 40 acre farming project started 10 years ago with a vision to create a place for people to discover the beauty of Costa Rica in a safe, sustainable and familiar way. If you are interested in learning and participating in permaculture design and implementation, green building, shipping container construction, gardening & reforestation, water systems, alternative energy, and living in balance with nature, you have found your chance! We are currently seeking volunteers to help us in the upcoming planting season of May and June 2015. Our volunteer program currently hosts up to 3 volunteers for a week at a time.
The farm day begins early so that we can complete 4-5 hours of work before the heat/rain set in. Afternoons are usually free-times unless a special project needs attention.We have opportunities for 2-3 volunteers to help with preparing garden spaces, planting and transplanting, building and maintaining jungle trails, continued construction on our shipping container home, recycled material projects, and other various farm duties.
We do ask that volunteers make a contribution of $15/day to simply covers their living costs (which are higher in Costa Rica compared to other developing countries). Discounts are offered to volunteers once they have been at the farm for a few days and can better determine how willing and how much they would like to work as work-trade.
