Old rooftop carriers make excellent storage containers. This one stores my garden tools at the farm.

I hope to find a larger one, that can become the roof of a small garden shed, orĀ  chicken coop or some other type of animal shelter. A rubber drip edge could be attached around the bottom like a skirt.

Have any of you used these carriers for storage purposes or other things ?

The old ones from Sears will hold two bales of hay and a bag of feed.

Some of the more sleek models would go nicely with a bicycle trailer.

Really big ones could become camping pods. Like a solid tent. Dracula could go camping and be assured that the morning sun could be kept off his face. This leads to the coffin shape of the long skinny ones. Not totally green, but uses a product that is likely to be landfilled at some point.
