So I was planning on planting all sorts of squash on my berms with my fruit trees. I figure it's great bio mass and etc. Anyone else doing this? It seems like a lot of the videos I've seen the food crops are planted in between and not in line with the fruit trees. I'd like to just throw them all together. Horrid???

You would have more root/water/nutrient completion if they are planted right next to each other and if the tree crop and new planting and the squash start growing up into the trees as a vine you will also have sunlight completion, and if the squash 'fruit' ends up being a 20lbs monster hanging off a 1/4 inch limb then it is going to rip the limb off.

All that said, I would plant them together that way I can harvest from year 1 vs waiting till year 5 when the tree crop really start producing ( more like year 14 for something like walnut).
