Derek Mcdonald : A couple of thoughts- The paper
should be protected from getting wet, wet is not good, wet plastic is very slippery- and then we have to consider
the printing on the outside of the package. In order to make the printed messages be clear,sharp, and really pop!!! the outside layer is saturated with Kaolin clay,
this allows the surface to take and hold the inks.
If the paper is allowed to get wet the clay will liquify into a slightly slimy and exceedingly slippery mess!
The golden rule for this type of construction ( and all types of Cob/Adobe ) is good
boots and a good hat , which is to say a good dry foundation, and a good roof
with large overhangs.
If you want to try to use these bags as a minimum I would remove the top layer of paper with its clay filled stiff shell and try using the rest, perhaps saving these
bags until you were up off of the ground -say 4'
