If you have a breeze and know how to use the smoke flaps, they are better than most tents. But hot and humid is still hot and humid.

Any tent type structure, especially a tipi, with open flaps, can be operated as a swamp cooler. If the structure is made of natural fibers that absorb water, it can be kept much cooler than the outdoor temperature in the sun.
No mold and mildew on hot days when it will completely dry out. I've done this with flannel sheets in a hot apartment and in a van. Makes a huge difference. Doesn't work if humidity is really high.
