Hi,

My father and I built this rocket stove.. after reading everything up in the internet we decided to make some tests, first we built some brick rocketstoves and then this one.
we found the ceramic chimneys in the garbage..
we are going to probably remove the vertical space left from the oven, i think it confuses the hot air.. and im thinking of adding a bench with a "U" chimney inside, where the hot air can optionally pass trought..
the ceramic "L" burning chamber cracked with the heat.. any suggestions for material of the burning chamber?
it works very well! a little smoke in the beginning of lighting it up, when it gets hot its 0 smoke..
burning chamber isolated with ashes..

air flow

the water is boiling and there is 0 smoke

i love the rocket sound!

the inspiration was this Ecofogao ready to build in rocket stove sold here in Brazil.. but we decided not to buy it , too expensive , and build our own RS by DIY!!!
ecofogao webpage
details ecofogao
lots of fotos of built in ecofogao

!

Hi Gabriel.

Well, if your ceramic tubes cracked once, and don't move anymore. I mean, if no piece falls down, you're fine. You might have to patch it up one day. But it should be ok for a while.

And if you want more resistant burn tunel and heat riser, you will have to find firebricks, or make your own clay mix, like cob.

Always! Wait. Never. Shut up. Look at this tiny ad.
