Not yet as I've never done it before. Some suggest using vinegar, or diesel. I heard that there are some restoration products that reverse the rust back to the iron or something. Not sure if it is true. Mostly I just clean and oil the tools that are easy to work on.
That counts. I found these barely used Corona loppers out in the rain at a demolition project. I will oil and scrub a little. Most rust will wear off with use.
The most common restoration for me is sharpening. Everything from shovels to knives and scissors can benefit from that.
I do have some tools from yard sales and an ax head I found with my metal detector that are going to need more extensive restoration work, so I need some pointers on how to proceed since I've never gone that far yet.
