It seems like an idea that surely someone has had before. Just wondering if anyone has seen someone try this? I don't have time for a deep search before I forget the idea.

Just simply designing a device to capture a little of that crazy wind energy caused by the rocket action in a well-tuned rocket-mass heater or rocket stove. It would have to be made of something that could handle the heat in the rocket stove exhaust... far enough away not to melt. Might work better in a rocket-mass heater... or maybe not since a lot of the energy will be harvested into the thermal mass. Who knows.

Could be either just normal fan-shaped... or something like an (metal)automotive air conditioner blower fan shaped like the one in the link that follows.

Or even something like this...

An RMH uses its energy to power the draft that is not coming from a really hot final chimney. Taking that energy to power a fan would diminish the draft, and might kill it, depending on the specific installation.

A RH may be the only version that could support something like that.

Don't listen to Steve. Just read this tiny ad:
