Hi Erinanne, welcome to permies!

For anyone considering this PDC, I can wholeheartedly endorse Brandon as an instructor; he's extremely knowledgeable and very engaging.

Are there early enough ferries from YVR and YYJ, for 9am start, or would students need to stay the night before?

There are very early ferries from Sidney(starting @ 5:20 IIRC) and Crofton(starting @ 6:30 IIRC).

Direct from Vancouver, I don't think you can even be there before 1PM; you could do much better by taking the 7AM to Sidney and *maybe* make it onto the 8:45 departure for Saltspring, but 9AM to the farm would still be out of the question.
