This seems like a new one and may be a combination of insect predation and fungal/bacterial infection.  Has anyone ever seen this on Juneberry before? We are accustomed to occasional cedar apple rust, but this seems new and the ripening berries are withered and degraded.  We are in northern Minnesota if the location helps at all.  Thanks.

For the record, it looks like it was an infestation of Pear sawfly larvae:  http://utahpests.usu.edu/ipm/htm/fruits/fruit-insect-disease/pear-sawfly88

edit I didnt read the post well enough. My Hawthorne's get pretty funky... hoping various tastier things are more resistant.

This tiny ad just broke up with me.
