Sorry to be so naive and hope you will be respectful and descent with me. I'm new to blogging and have just a small blog that really is not that great and wonderful or well read. I was wanting to use the ducklings in the storm drain series of photos in one of the posts on my blog. When I found the photo, it linked me to this site. I was just trying to find out how to get permission to use the photo.

thanks for your kind answers in advance....

In general, all over the internet, it is always good to respect copyright.   And then there is a part of copyright which is called "fair use".  My impression is that if you use one image (and/or a paragraph or two) you can do so provided that right next to the image (and/or paragraph(s)) you make a link to the source.

Throughout this site, some people post an image from somewhere and we try to make sure that they do the right thing and include a link to the source with the image.    I think we are not perfect with this, but I think we are much better than most of the internet.

Thee are some exceptions to this rule - and that includes sites that designed to be just image hosts.

the url for the image is https://i.imgur.com/CzGfQ.jpg

It is the pictures of the ducklings who fall down in the grate and are rescued.

Thanks,
Janis

Imgur is an image hosting site with a bit of the vibe of "the internet should be free for everybody!"  It is my impression that anything there can be used, freely, in web stuff.   They require that stuff posted there is posted by the photographer/creator and that they give oodles of permissions to imgur and the world.  But, sometimes, somebody is naughty ...

The key is, that is an imgur image.  You really need to take it up with them.
