I can’t seem to find a clear answer on using lime.  I know the first coat needs to be strongest and heaviest.  I also need to use a very clayey base because it’s going directly to the strawbales.  But should I add a lime/water solution to that coat as well as the second and final coat??  I always thought it was only in the final coat but now I’ve learned that makes the final coat too heavy.  Plus, I’ve read that the interior coat should be thicker than the exterior coat.  Help?  Anyone have some for sure answers to these questions?

Thanks Miles!  This is getting WAY more complicated than it needs to be.  I’m sure someone out there has a simple answer.
