Is this mushroom a natural pesticide?

This article discusses the use of SMART magic mushroom which don't produce spores, yet attract insects, who upon eating the mushroom begin to turn into a mushroom themselves...woow.. any info on where to get this ? I know it in the developing stages to mass production, but just in case you know...

Without knowing what fungus is being talked about in order to look into it, that is knowing its scientific name, it's hard to conclude anything.  Possibly Mr. Stamets discusses this in his book "Mycelium Running".

Its not a magic mushroom in the sense it makes you hallucinate. He talks about it in one of his lectures, usually an infected worker is rejected in order to save the queen and colony, however he cultures a strain the termites can't recognise it and it is taken into the heart of the colony destroying it. I think the mushroom is Cordyceps Sinensis which is also highly valued in Chinese medicine.

Yes its magic in the sense it doesn't release spores and just grow without dying as i understand this, also the mushroom attracts pests to itself so maybe the Cordyceps Sinensis has been selected for these traits...
