Its not a magic mushroom in the sense it makes you hallucinate. He talks about it in one of his lectures, usually an infected worker is rejected in order to save the queen and colony, however he cultures a strain the termites can't recognise it and it is taken into the heart of the colony destroying it. I think the mushroom is Cordyceps Sinensis which is also highly valued in Chinese medicine.
