how do I find the right pdc/workshop/similar?

I am interested in participating in some hands-on permaculture training but not sure where to begin. I would LOVE to be a part of an intensive PDC program but find that kind of commitment hard at this time because of family and financial reasons. I was wondering if anyone has insight about what other kinds of opportunities I should search for. My main interest is in-person, teaching. I am in central Florida, any region-specific information would be appreciated.

For teaching I think there are online courses for a PDC. We have an entire forum devoted to online learning which might fit better into a busy schedule.

I know some people have had success with finding hands on opportunities with meetups where people join together to achieve specific tasks. This might not give you the design experience, but it goes a long way towards building the skills that will let you realize a design.

I think there are some skills (gardening particularly comes to mind) where nothing can replace just going out and trying it yourself. If you don't have the space or land to have your own garden, maybe there are volunteer opportunities in your area. Schools often have gardens for students, or maybe the local food pantries have arrangements with local gardeners who would appreciate the help.

There are some folks who do consulting and mentoring... if you really want in-person that's something you could search for. A dude named Justin Rhodes has been doing a tour of permaculture-related farms/homesteads and posting everything to his youtube channel. He has been in Florida. Some of the folks he has interviewed might be in your area and people to whom you could reach out.
