Ants in the house

I've heard of, i think it was, African tribes encoutering seasonal swarms or hordes of ants. The tribes combated this 'problem' by opening the doors and (standing on boxes?) for the few short hours the swarms made short work of their messes and moved on.

Fast forward to first world and i got a few ants coming up in between my stove and sink. I know for a fact food has fallen down there. Based on this info i can't imagine a reason to kill them or their tribe. they are simply cleaning my hard to clean places and sending out a few scouts to see how messy i really am. what do you all think? has ant excrete ever led to any problems the way mouse waste has?

ps in general i love the industrious little fellows. when they are sick i give them some bread, sugar and water. i believe the nicer we are to bugs the nicer they will be to us.

We generally don't kill ants at our place, we just try to keep things cleanish so they don't feel like coming in the house.

They give off an antibacterial thing so they are doing some real deep cleaning. If there are to many ants in your house you should clean up your home. Or create ant habitat outside the home for them to live in.

it would seem to me if there were too many in the house i should get even more and go on vacation for a few weeks.

the place will be spic and span, nobody cleans better then ants
