This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Metal Working.

For this BB, you will be making a gravity powered fan from metal!  Use the power of a weight pulling on a rope to spin a fan.  It can be a ceiling fan or box fan or other style of fan.

Here's an idea of what it looks like.

(source: Micaella Pedros)

Minimum requirements:
 - Make the fan blades yourself
 - Make the drive system from parts and pieces (not a kit - if there even is a kit for something this cool)
 - Must be able to blow a candle halfway out for 4 minutes

To document your completion of the BB, provide the photos or video (<2 min) of the following:
 - The supplies you're starting with
 - Partway through the build
 - The finished gravity power fan that obviously works for at least 4 minutes per drop (action picture or ideally a video)

So it takes a day for light to pass through this glass? So this was yesterday's tiny ad?
