This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in textiles.

In this project, you will prepare at least 4 ounces of cotton for spinning.

Additional Information and Resources:
 -  Spin Off: A Practical Guide to Ginning Cotton by Hand
 -  Making Cotton Puni with Joan Ruane

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
  -  prepare 4 ounces (post-processing weight) of cotton for spinning
  -  gin (remove seeds and detritus)
  -  card into punis or rolags to prepare for spinning (hint, rolags are loose punis - or punis are tight rolags)

To document your completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (less than two minutes):
 - the raw cotton you are starting with
 - ginning the cotton
 - carding and making punis or rolags
 - weight of materials (after processing)
