Install a wood floor - PEM BB dimensional.straw.woodfloor

This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Dimensional Lumber Woodworking.

Wood floors are durable, look great and use a renewable resource.  Let's try our hand at installing one!

 
 

Here's one way to do it:


Minimum requirements:
  - Install at least 120 square feet of wood flooring
  - Tongue and groove or other method with primarily hidden fasteners
  - Rosin or craft paper between wood and subfloor
  - Use real wood, not an engineered product
  - Prefinished flooring is allowed

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The room you'll be installing the flooring in
  - The wood flooring you're going to install
  - Midway through the install showing the fastening tools you're using
  - Installed wood floor
  - Show size of room if it isn't obviously over 120 square feet
