I'm wanting to start a treehouse, yurt community  I have lived off grid now for my off grid soulmate. I want to start a community, raise food. Live off the land, I have all types of skills, Alternative energy, survival skills, gardening, hunting, fishing and many more  I am semi retired, I have a small fishing business with my son , I build off grid cabins, and I have a small solar, wind business. So I would like to find my soulmate, and start this community, and help ,veterans, senior citizens, and homeless people out

Yes ,I'm a veteran, and think it would be a great idea , and live off grid in peace and quite with nature and help other people out to do the same.

I'm going to have a small community for veterans , off grid like minded people. I only have 5 acres right now, but could get more if needed , if the people in the community helps out and can selm them their own little spot for a very low payment monthly on contract. But they have to provide their own yurt, camper ect. And their is water there, and I'm going to build a solar, turbine, self running generator system for electric. A d there will be toilets.

I'm not a veteran... I volunteer at DAV every month to cook and serve them a meal at their meeting... My stepdad was a veteran that's how mom and I got started cooking for them... It's possible to grow alot of food in small space. When you say like minded people can you give me a example...

You don't have to be a veteran , but be like minded in the way of living off grid, helping each other out and live in peace and Harmony. And yes theirs plenty of space to grow food. Can use raised beds a d grow a lot..The winters here are very mild, and ling growing season. I hunt and fish too, but everyone to their each and own. I have three small busineses ,to help the community out , as ling as they will try to help there self out

I also want to live on a small houseboat part time. I'm needing other members to join. We can have a great time in the treehouse community, or on the lake. Their are a lot of options here. And may start a off grid campground . Any new ideals , just let me know. This is a wonderful site

Hi Gibson! I'd be very interested in talking to you about what progress you've made on the homestead. But it looks like you've not been on for some time.

I friend of mine has a yurt and treehouse community. It’s been good for everyone involved. I will add that simple 10’x15’ cabins were more practical after the first treehouse and yurt were erected. The cabins cost less, are  warmer, and generally more practical. But it’s fun to have a variety of structures if possible.

That sounds pretty cool!  I'm hoping to do something similar here on my farm in Massachusetts.  I hope you'll post your progress so that we can all be inspired.

Is there a link where we can see this community?  Sounds really cool.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was a tiny ad.
