We are currently repairing and improving an organic farm in northeastern Pennsyvlania that had sat unused. We are looking for motivated helpers and potential partners to help us grow various enterprises related to sustainability and home-based businesses. We offer the opportunity to learn about:
natural horse care and conscious horsemanship (free will) training
permaculture & agroecology
alternative therapies and wellness
agritourism & heritage rare breed preservation
holistic farming techniques
sustainable profitable farm-related small business development

Barakah Heritage Farm believes in preserving the heritage livestock breeds and heirloom plants whenever possible. Barakah Farm is also the home of the Malabar Jilfan Sitam al Bulad Arabian Horse Preservation Program, as well as the Horse Heroes program for rescue horses.
Horse apprenticeship opportunity! Work with critically endangered Arabians plus other breeds.

Your hosts are experienced homesteaders, entrepreneurs, and published authors. The farm is home to four of a critically endangered Arabian horse bloodline. Volunteer workers have the opportunity to learn holistic equine health methods and ride and train using conscious horsemanship, with both our rare Arabians and our other rescue horses.

Chemical-free sustainable agriculture farm on fifty acres. Specializing in preservation of heritage breeds. Currently working with Tennessee Fainting Goats and critically endangered foundation Arabian horses. Also poultry.

As part of our stewardship of a breeding herd of rare horses, we are starting our pasture conversion to intensive grazing/winter stockpiling/horse self-exercise paths. We are looking for people that would like to work side-by-side with us, learning while developing that system in the fall of 2019.

Work with heritage goats, poultry, gardens and pond restoration.

Housing:
Our last helpers brought their own camper and hooked up to the electricity at the barn and reported that they were happy with the setup. The housing options we currentlty provide are the same thing we offer to our AirBnB/Hipcamp guests:
camp with an outdoor hot shower and portable toilet
bring your own camper or tent

Additionally, longer-term, you may use one of the above options while you help us rehab a 24 foot camper trailer, which would then become your housing.

Meals:
Negotiable. Also, we can also offer you gardening space or possibly space for your other business or livestock project.

Transportation:
Negotiable.

Wifi/phone:
Wifi available.

Income:
Negotiable.
Income from co-hosting the established and highly-rated airbnb & hipcamp rental units on site is possible.
Income from possible profit-sharing from an established web development/social marketing business.
Income from possible partnership in farm businesses (ie: market gardening & homestead products, scented geraniums, herbs, cut flowers - let us know your ideas and interests).
Local part-time paid employment opportunities available in nearby towns a half hour away.
Online work is possible.

Local recreation/activities:

Hi guys,
It's probably too late in the season as it will be getting cold and camping will be out of the question but, I do have some experience around horses. Very basic, some feeding, leading and cleaning, a little picking and brushing. Like I said, very very basic. BUT, I DO have a great deal of permaculture/bioremediation experience. I am currently living on 100 acre horse "farm" in Iowa where I also host an Air Bnb but am really looking for something that fits my nature to learn and grow more exactly. I would love to talk more about your opportunities. My direct email is neonhoney77@gmail.com.
Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

Matthew, thanks for taking the time to write, it is much appreciated. Yes, the weather is changing quickly, and hopefully this fall and winter we can assess, plan, improve, and organize for the many possibilities of next spring. We look forward to talking with you, and will send you an email directly this weekend.

Hi Carrie,
My wife and I currently live in NJ, but are looking to move to a farm and a situation almost exactly as you describe.  We have a camper to live in (like your last helpers) and are looking for a permanent situation.  We would like to speak to you in greater detail.  To that end, I could send you a more detailed email so we aren't discussing a lot about ourselves in an open forum.  If you would like to hear more, please feel free to shoot me an email at doug74.dc@gmail.com.  We very much look forward to hearing from you.
