So I'm doing these movie showings all over the county about this Austrian dude, Sepp Holzer, I think you've heard of him....

anyway. A lot of folks here don't even know what permaculture is, so if I'm at a place with wifi, I've been mixing it up a little.

I was looking for short clips of 5 min. or less that are fairly fast-moving. I worried that Sepp's stuff, though awesome, can be a little slow. So this method has been working well,

I've also thrown in

Penny Livingston, Permaculture 101

Elvin Hugelkultures

Greening the Desert, Geoff Lawton

Anyone have more suggestions?

These are awesome, Kelda, thanks for sharing! What I think has huge value, but it's likely too much for a Sepp movie night, is "The Man Who Planted Trees." It's on the web at: The Man Who Planted Trees.

The success of these movie showings has spurned another idea, for after Sepp leaves, why not get-togethers where we geek out on all the cool youtube clips about a various topic, and then talk excitedly, and then do something.

It's perfect for this community because quite a bit of education about topics really helps it along.

Themes:
Urban Homesteading
with something like this:

Save Yo'Self Money with Natural Buiding
with something like this:

etc.

More ideas?
I've been talking with one guy who's gotten totally fired up about permaculture, first from a little direction by me, but mostly through all of the awesome youtube flicks he's been finding.

If it's working for him, then others will find it too.
