Does anyone know if Nikita’s Gift is sterile? Sometimes the fruits don’t have seeds. Sometimes the seeds seem undeveloped. This year they look pretty normal but a little small. I have a small grafted american persimmon about 50’  away.  Yates, I think. There are many wild persimmons within a quarter mile. Nikita’s Gift fruits are very sweet but bland. Crossed back with an American variety could be really interesting. Maybe more flavor but still big?

It was way too wet here most of they year. Most fruits dropped in August. The remaining fruit were big.

I honestly don't know, but I've found that sterility in cultivars isn't always set in stone. If the tree is making seeds that are the same size/shape/etc of normal, viable seeds, then they may sprout.
My suggestion is to always try it out. Worst case scenario is nothing germinates & you get more compost for the garden.

Thanks KC! I planted them in pots outside. Sure hope I get some trees.
