My son showed me this today: www.blackle.com. It's a black screen that uses a google search. The black screen saves energy. Simple. Effective.

Hm, another techie found more info here. Blackle only saves energy for the older, CRT monitors. For the new LCD monitors, the color doesn't matter. Dang.

i hate to even think of how much energy i use here on things i'm not using..or are using..sheesh, i want a wind generator (just  never could afford it..)
