Any help appreciated! We are in Castelo Branco district of
Portugal and looking to buy some chickens. Ideally we'd love to get Black Australorps, chicks or young hens.  But where!?

Thanks in advanced

Try Fundao market on a Monday morning, ie tomorrow.

Not sure you'll find Austrolorps but they often have interesting stuff.

Agriloja in Castelo Branco often have some, but pot luck what they have.

Burra thank you, that's great info.  I did not know Fundao had a market. I will definitely go along for a look.

Did you have any luck?

We went up on the train as we'd heard that there was a local shop selling Cripp's Pink apple trees.  They were right, too!

I hope you found some chickens you liked.  This girl was at the station waiting for the train to her new home so I figure there must have been *some* interesting ones at the market today.

We will be going two weeks today to Fundao Market so I hope they have hens like that one! We still have a bit of work to do on the chicken house and enclosure (these will be our first hens) to make sure it's safe for them, or I'd have gone today! Hope your Apple tree does well.

Burra Maluca thank you! We got our four lovely hens at Fundao market on Monday. We are not sure of their heritage but they are very easy going and good natured which is what we wanted.

We also bought a beautiful Magnolia tree. Thank you for replying to my post, your info was a huge help. We will definitely visit Fundao market again in future.
