I messed up. In this morning's Dailyish I was pleased to see Ben Peterson's offer for a free copy of his Solar Station plans. (We already have his Wood Gasifier Builder's Bible). I clicked on the link and saw where to put in my email, but I wasn't signed in to Permies so I thought I had to do that first. I clicked login, signed in, and then came back to the offer page. But the page now thinks I already signed up for the free plans and won't let me do it "again." I promise I'm not trying to cheat the system! I'd just like one copy of the plans. Can anyone help?

Here is my guess:  You are already signed up for the dailyish and already got a freebie.  Every few days you get a new freebie.  And, in time, you will get this freebie.

So the dailyish was letting you know that there was a new freebie on the big list of freebies.

Thanks Paul. I don't recall being interested in a freebie until this one, but maybe I did.

Nicole and I wrote up a message for clarification and sent out another dailyish.  It is going out now.

I had the same problem when I tried to redeem the solar plans from my dailyish email that offered them to me. I clicked on it, it said I had to log in, I logged in, it said that I had already redeemed my one freebie.  i have not gotten another freebie although the webpage showed that they had emailed me two different ones just that same morning. Neither of those ever arrived as well. Think maybe there is a true glitch. Thank you!

Gina,

The dailyish will send out a freebie offer every few days.  Each freebie is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours.  If you grab it, it's yours.  If you miss it - no worries, it will be back around in time.

It looks like there have been ten offers sent to you - each embedded in a different dailyish email.  So far, you have collected one freebie.

One of the offers sent to you, which you did not collect was the offer for the solar station plans.  Keep watching the dailyish for the offer to come around again.

You know, I'm wondering if maybe the problem is actually with the web browser. I use Opera, which works for most sites most of the time, but sometimes I click on a link for a PDF and all I get is a blank page. I've learned to access the link from another browser. Next time I get a chance for a freebie, I'll try it with Firefox or Chromium.

My Opera tends to download any PDFs, and then I have to go to my downloads--or click the little icon in the top right that looks kind of like an arrow pointing down at a line. Once I click the downloaded PDF, it opens in either Opera or with adobe reader (I don't know why it does one sometimes, and the other the other times...)
