Is this a puffball? Found in my garden in Tucson.

Earlier this morning, it was puffier. I think it developed overnight. Now it is oozing with the morning sun hitting it. My daughter also poked it with a stick before I could stop her. But that was after it started oozing. Thanks!

Doesn't look like a puffball. If you cut it in half, what does the inside look like?

Also doesn't look like any puffball I've ever seen.  I've never seen one ooze.

Try uploading your photo into Google image search and see if anything like it turns up. I was going to say maybe it's some kind of slime mold or stinkhorn in its early stages, but I have no idea. The light brown part looks slime-moldish. The oozing part looks stinkhornish.

 
What I don't understand is how they changed the earth's orbit to fit the metric calendar. Tiny ad:
