I have dairy goats. Full sized, mixed breed and I love having them but I also really love cream, sour cream and butter.

We live off grid and I was interested if anyone has any recommendations for a manual cream separator?

I had heard about one from Russia several years back that people thought highly of but have no idea of the brand.

Thanks

We use milkyday.  It is a decent product.  If you can, hunt the junk stores for a cream separator.   You may be able to land one of a higher quality and lower price. The advantage, for me, of the Milkyday is that it is relatively light weight. Some of the separator s from the 1920s were pretty hefty.

Thanks for the reply John.

I looked at the Milky Day website and they look really good but we're off grid and have very limited electricity so I was really hoping for a manual/non electric version.

I have seen a couple of those giant cream separators that you mentioned though. They look like real monsters and very complicated.

Slavic Beauty has both manual and electric ones.

I have one of their electic versions.

There aren't many out there, just the same with butter churns, for small scale or homesteads.

Really? I looked on their website and they only listed the electric ones.

I'll check around some more.

Thanks

I just double checked. The hand cranked model is on their site. One is $154.00 ... there may be others.

Now I see it on their website!

Actually looks exactly like the one from Slavic Beauty. Wonder if they're the same?  I'll have to check it out.

Also, noticed that shipping is as much as the cream separator itself.  Yikes! Another

Thanks again

Hi Penny

In am am pretty sure they are the same.  There are a number of YouTube posts on its use and cleaning.
