Lately I've seen a number of references to Paul  G putting wood chips in his chicken run for processing before using them. I'm not certain where this idea came from. Does anyone have any specific information about this? I've watched the movie more than a dozen times, and watched literally dozens of interviews with him, and I've never heard him make any reference to putting wood chips in his chicken run. I know he puts all of his yard waste and she's from his wood stove in the run, because he talks about tray in the movie and various interviews.  If anyone does have any information about this, I would love to watch it.  I'm sure I haven't seen all his interviews but I'm fascinating with the work he is doing and if there are other interviews where he talks about this, I would really like to see them.

Just an idea, all sort of bugs love to nest, and love to decay wood mulch and hay. So that could feed the chickens.

I’ve seen many of those same interviews.

He talks about woodchips, and will say things like “this is just woodchips”... while pulling a rake through a gorgeously fine tilth of well rotted compost.

I think he just in the habit of referring to woodchips and not the processes used in preparing and spreading the chips.

I have seen at least one video of a walking tour where he explains that he spreads wood chips from his chickens on the beds.

I think I'll call and ask him about this. I love watching his videos where he shows how beautiful his soil is now. It's amazing he can do everything with just a rake at this point.
