Some places have the equivalent of a "tool library" which might have loaner canners? Here, I'd just go to the
local hardware store - if they didn't have one in stock, they'd have it in their catalog and bring it in for us. I wouldn't go cheap if you're buying though. There seem to be some specific brands out there that people are really happy with. I've got a large pressure canner, but I bought it over 20 years ago, so I'm not so up on the more modern ones. You're looking for something heavy, so if you go looking on the web, check the shipping weight to get some idea of how solid it is. Of
course a Stainless steel one will be heavier than an aluminium one, but the last time I was looking it was for a kitchen one and I want stainless for that. If you are only going to use a large canner for bottles, it's less of an issue, but I want mine for making bone broth.
