My husband and I just moved onto 32 acres about 20 miles from Springfield. The property we moved to has been completely neglected for 15+ years and is very overgrown. Does anyone in the area know a company that would come to our property and do an assessment of it for permaculture purposes? We have no experience at growing in this climate and we are older, so we have little time for experimentation.
Thank you!

Hi! Welcome to Permies and to SW Missouri!
A lot of people on permies have taken a PDC (permaculture design course) and can give advice, but as far as who is running a company in this area, I don't know that. If I wanted to find someone who might run a company doing it, I'd ask Midwest Permaculture if they know anyone this for south of them, or Baker Creek seed company if they know of any companies in this area. Both of them know a lot of people around here. Someone who reads permies might be running a company, but I don't know who right off. I'll add this thread to a few other areas of permies and see if anyone has ideas.

:D

You may be better off providing a rough drawing of you property ....maybe along with a contour map (I am sure the internet can help with this...and posting it on this site. There are many people here who would be ha happy to assist you.  I also wish to second Pearls comments on Baker Creek.  They are wonderful people and it is a great place to visit.

Stinging nettles are edible. But I really want to see you try to eat this tiny ad:
