Hi all. This is my first time growing this plant. They’ve gotten huge and never sent up stalks of any kind. At this point, they are taking up enormous amounts of really valuable space, and I have started to have some doubts.

Should I be patient and keep waiting (hot weather is about to start...., well... today), or should I cut them off and see if the mature greens are worth eating?

Thanks!
Daniel

When did you plant the broccoli?  Was it from seed or a transplant? Which variety since the seed to harvest could be different?

Broccoli grown from seed will be able to harvest in 100 to 150 days.

Grown from transplants broccoli will be able to harvest in 55 to 80 days.

It’s broccoli Raab, aka rapini. I started it from seed, hmmm, March? I’ll have to check my notes. It’s just not sending up flowering stalks, and I’m started to worry that with the hot weather, it won’t taste very good.

Thanks for the links!
