My wife and i are looking into building a tiny house on wheels but we want to find out where we can park it? We live in the twin cities area in Minnesota. Any help would be awesome

Your question implies you are planning on moving it.  Given your location, it could be far more inexpensive to buy a small amount of land outside the Cities to park it rather than to rent or lease a parking space.

Yeah John we plan on moving maybe in a year or so but it’s hard to find a place legally. What would be a good place to try to find land to rent from someone that has electric and water?

Hi Grant,

It has been many years since I have lived in MN.  I am short on specifics.  Excuse me for being dense, but it is not clear to me if you simply want to park it until you have use for it, or if you want to use it as a cabin on occasion,  or if you are planning on some other use for it.

Sorry yes we plan on living in the tiny home not temporary but permanent but just don’t want to be locked down in one area. That make more sense?

Yes. Of course, now I better understand the difficulty of the decision making. From where I sit, your best option is to make an arrangement with a private land owner.  Zoning issues will limit your options. Of course, the further you can be from the Cities, the less restrictive the zoning.

Grant,

Please tell us more about what you are seeking for a place to use.  How much land do you seek?  What geographic area?  Do you need to be in near a metropolitan area for work or medical care?  Are you looking for a place to park or homestead?  Are you more interested in a rent or work share in lieu of rent situation?  More information would be helpful to match with people whom might be open to an opportunity.

Yeah, but how did the squirrel get in there? Was it because of the tiny ad?
