Troy-Bilt Chipper/Shredder

Hello All -

First of all, thank you to all those who read and respond to the questions posted on this site. I'm new to this life (grew up in suburbia) and love working on being a steward of my land and family.

I was lucky enough to find a Troy Bilt Super Tomahawk from a neighbor who no longer needed it because the belt broke almost immediately. I have read a lot on line that belt tension for this machine is an on-going struggle. I'm looking to repair the machine however the serial number is missing so I'm not certain on the parts I'm ordering. The engine model is a 190412. Any idea on the equipment model (it's different from the engine) and where I can find an operating manual?

Hi Mac and welcome to Permies!

Off hand I do not know much about the Troy tomahawk--is it some type of brush mower?  But I would think that if you contacted a local Troy dealership they should be able to help you.  And if you don't have an exactly local dealer, I would try calling the one nearest you.  

I hope someone else has a better answer than me, but these are just my suggestions.

Again, welcome to Permies and I hope to see you here more in the future.

Dan - thanks for the message. I actually found this after I first got it a few weeks ago and read it through a few times. I can't tell if it's the same piece or not.
