Hey Guys, New to this forum and needing information.
I Bought a Troybilt Tomahawk 8hp Chipper Shredder from a guy that inherited it from his late uncle. Machine looks like it has only been used a couple times. I have no idea what year it is. He didn't have a owners manual or parts manual for it. Can Anyone tell me the year and where I can locate a parts, owners manual.? Also where I might can find parts for it in the future. Thanks

Hi Dale, Welcome to Permies! Nice machine!
I don't know whether it will help, but I noticed this thread came up on the similar threads at the bottom of your post (after I had already found it in a site search, doh!). I haven't checked it all, but someone had the same model and was asking the same question. The OP may still be around and notice if you post on that thread too!

Have you tried looking for a plate on the machine that lists the model number?  I use machine and electronic equipment and have noticed companies no longer send along an owner's manual but give a link to the manual posted online.  Cost savings probably.  Anyway, I have found even the most obscure equipment manual online.   I found the following by using the make and model of your machine:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Troybilt+Tomahawk+8hp+Chipper+Shredder+manual&sca_esv=593269269&ei=puWGZYbsGZegqtsP6sqxqAE&ved=0ahUKEwiG17rt2aWDAxUXkGoFHWplDBUQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=Troybilt+Tomahawk+8hp+Chipper+Shredder+manual&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiLVRyb3liaWx0IFRvbWFoYXdrIDhocCBDaGlwcGVyIFNocmVkZGVyIG1hbnVhbDIGEAAYFhgeMgYQABgWGB4yCxAAGIAEGIoFGIYDMgsQABiABBiKBRiGAzILEAAYgAQYigUYhgNIzRRQ-gVYjBJwAXgBkAEAmAFmoAHoBKoBAzYuMbgBA8gBAPgBAcICChAAGEcY1gQYsAPiAwQYACBB4gMFEgExIECIBgGQBgg&sclient=gws-wiz-serp

Hope this helps!

Hi Nancy
Yes I saw that thread but my model number is not the same, close but not exact. Mine is model # 47258 and serial number is 472580101272. I'm guessing it's a 1998 model but can't confirm this. Thanks for your help.

Hi Tina
Yes I've burned up the internet looking for my model number. Found everything else but mine. Yes, the model# and serial# sticker looks like it was put on there yesterday. It's 47258  &  Serial# 472580101272 . Says Garden Way Incorporated. Which I have learned they went Bankrupt. Wondering what year mine is and maybe where everyone who might have one like mine are getting their parts from. Thanks Tina

Well, I went down a few rabbit holes chasing this.  Totally obscure model, I must say.  Looks like brentchalmers.com bought a bunch of the manuals.

This one is for 47260.  Does it look similar?  It is a 1992 model.

This DIY forum looks pretty helpful but its older.

This seminar book lists your model on page 58.  Might have more info after.

Hey Tina
Hahaha Yes I know about them rabbit holes. I love a challenge but this is ridiculous. Thank you for the help. Maybe someone will pop one here and say hey I have that parts manual operator's manual. Brent Chalmers link you sent of the 1996 looks like mine. Ok getting closer LoL ... Thank you
